Dr. Heidi Anderson-Dockter graduated with highest honors from the University of Virginia College of Medicine. She completed her internship in internal medicine at the University of Chicago and dermatology residency at Roger Williams Medical Center, a major research and clinical affiliate of Boston University, which is nationally recognized for both medical and surgical dermatology. In her third year of dermatology residency, she served as the chief resident. Following residency, Dr. Anderson-Dockter completed a Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship at Roger Williams Medical Center. She then became a faculty member at Roger Williams Medical Center and trained resident dermatologists in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Anderson-Dockter has written numerous articles on general and surgical dermatology topics. Her work has been published in journals including Dermatologic Surgery and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has also spoken at national meetings on the topics of dermatologic surgery and dermatopathology.
As a Mohs surgeon, Dr. Anderson-Dockter has completed an intense one-year fellowship that is approved by the American College of Mohs Surgeons. She is an expert in all aspects of skin cancer surgery. This includes basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma, and other forms of skin cancer. Dr. Anderson-Dockter specializes in the diagnosis and repair of skin lesions, including cosmetic reconstruction following skin cancer removal, skin grafts, and skin flaps.
Dr. Anderson-Dockter is board certified in dermatology and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgeons, American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. She is also a member of many honorary societies, including AOA and Phi Beta Kappa. In addition to her surgical specialization, she practices general and cosmetic dermatology.
