Fall in Love with Your Skin
The New Sunscreen on the Block
Do you have a history of precancerous skin lesions? Have you ever been ‘sprayed’ or ‘frozen’ with liquid nitrogen at the dermatologist for them? Sun exposure causes skin changes that accumulate over the years and this is known as actinic damage. Actinic Keratoses are precancerous lesions caused by sun exposure that can develop into squamous cell carcinoma. Sun-damaged skin is also at risk of other skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma or melanoma.
Eryfotona Actinica Ultralight Emulsion is the new sunscreen that I’ve been recommending for my patients-especially those with a history of skin cancers, precancerous lesions, or significant sun damage. It protects from the sun with an SPF 50 (from natural, non-irritating, transparent zinc oxide), and also helps undo DNA damage with its proprietary DNA repairsomes and Vitamin E. The DNA repairsomes, derived naturally from plankton, are encapsulated photolyase enzymes in liposomes. These photolyase enzymes bind to damaged DNA , restore it to its normal undamaged form and thereby aid the body in its natural recovery process. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects against environmental damage by scavenging free radicals. As a result, Eryfotona Actinica Sunscreen helps to protect against sunburn, helps to prevent early skin aging caused by the sun, and can decrease the risk of skin cancer by undoing some DNA damage. It also feels light on the skin, absorbs nicely, and doesn’t leave a whitish film.
**Of course, it still needs to be REAPPLIED regularly and after swimming or sweating. For the BEST protection, it should also be used with other sun protection measures (wide brimmed hats, sunglasses and sun protective clothing).
